Patek Philippe 18K gold AMAGNETIC pocket watch ref. 782 „GOLF” designed by Gilbert Albert.
Patek Philippe launched reference 782 in 1959 and it was produced for around five years. Reference 782 was part of the Golf collection, designed by Gilbert Albert.
Case:  Three-body, solid, polished, winding-crown at 6.
Dial: Matte silver with yellow gold bâton and dart indexes. Yellow gold „bâton” hands. Dial in perfect condition, with very high enamel indelebile.
Movement: Cal. 27-400 AM, stamped with the Geneva Quality Hallmark, rhodium plated, „fausses côtes” decoration, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring, micrometer regulator.
27-400 AMAGNETIC movements were fitted with a gold or beryllium lever escapement and covered by a soft iron (permalum) cap. The amagnetic calibre 27-AM 400 was launched in 1960 and is an improved version of the 1958 calibre 12”’400, fitted now with a Gyromax balance and free sprung self-compensation Breguet overcoil hairspring.
Dial, case and movement signed.
Diameter: 40 mm.
Accompanied by the original Patek Philippe red leather-covered box.  Watch in perfect, original condition.
The reference 782 was in production from 1959 until approximately 1964. The watch was originally made with the caliber 23-300 or 12-400 and later using the 27-400. It is interesting to note that this watch was called the Golf watch as Patek Philippe designed it to be attached to golf bags.
