Patek Philippe Automatic Calatrava ref. 3429 Yellow Gold – Very rare, unusual and oversized watch for very sophisticated collectors. Perfect dial with original, very high indelebile.

This exceptionally rare example of reference 3429 is distinguished not only by its warm yellow gold case but also by the pristine, almost New Old Stock condition.

This watch is in superb original condition with unpolished, very crispy edges and still has the original Patek Philippe crown with the letters „PP” embossed on the side. Parts of the gold case have taken on a beautiful honey-coloured patina, showing that the watch has hardly been worn in recent years. The silvered dial is in untouched, 100% original with very high indelebile – the black enamel letters and the auxiliary second indexes are still raised.

Unique condition of this very rare reference.

Produced from 1960 to 1969, reference 3429 is a particularly exlusive watch, especially in this configuration; to date, only several yellow gold examples have been seen in the market, and among these only this one in such untouched condition. The reference is powered by the calibre 27-460, which is an advancement of what is widely considered the most celebrated, luxurious, and arguably precise automatic calibre ever: cal. 12-600. In comparison to its predecessor, this calibre showcases a primary upgrade: the jewel that supports the rotor has been switched out for a flatter ball-bearing system that includes a new adjustable balance spring stud carrier. Besides this distinction, the movement is precisely the same as the cal. 12-600, which received several incremental improvements over the years but retained its original designation. The new calibre designation assigned to this ultimate upgrade signifies that Patek Philippe has finally attained perfection for its automatic calibre, thus introducing a new name for this final evolution.
